The new implant is left undisturbed for a period of three to six months to allow it to integrate with the bone. When the implant is in a visible area of the mouth, the patient may choose to wear a temporary false tooth during the healing period. Dentures may be relined with comfortable liners to allow patients to wear them as normal during the healing process.
