A work from home job sounds like bliss to many people. You will have the freedom to have the wonderful lifestyle you have always dreamed of - no bosses, no commuting, no 9-hour a day, 5-days a week office to go to. You can make a lot more money than you can ever imagine, and work only and solely for yourself. However, remember that working from home is not void of its challenges. Not all who work at home succeeds.

Thus, before finally quitting your job, you need to carefully decide whether a work from home job is right for you. Working at home can be difficult to keep. You need to be mentally, emotionally, and even socially prepared for it before you finally decide. Here are some guide questions to help you gauge whether or not you are ready to pursue a job of this nature.

Will you be able to manage your time well? To cut it short, working at home is not for those who do not have the ability to manage their time well. It is not for deadliners, or those who like to work only when they want to. A work from home job is still a job after all, you need to allot time and schedule for you to succeed.

Can you be flexible with your time yet focused on your tasks? A work from home job requires a good mix of strict schedule and spontaneity. You need to be flexible when it comes to your schedule and coping with your client demands. Yet, you also need to stay focused when sudden changes crop up. If your son gets sick or your client suddenly demands half of the project to be done, or your daughter's school program took out all of the time you initially allotted for the project, it is best to be ready with whatever comes ahead.

Will you be willing to work alone and run your very own social life? A work from home job will naturally require you to work independently, on your own, without colleagues (at least not physically). Note though that with this set-up, you may run that dangerous risk of becoming a home hermit if you are not careful. Make sure you also look after your social and physical needs. This can be as simple as taking a morning jog around the block, treating yourself to a small shopping spree, watching a movie with friends, and so on.

Will you be willing to set strict boundaries with family and friends? Setting limits can be one of the most difficult work from home challenges you have to face. Many people don't realize that it is also a real job. You should then have the courage to stand up for your job, and make sure that people around you take it seriously as you do. You need to set your ground rules and simple guidelines both for yourself and for your friends and family. If you establish these rules for yourself, all of them will most likely follow suit.

Work from home jobs may just be the most rewarding career for you. However, know that you need to make the right decisions and set appropriate boundaries beforehand to make sure you succeed.
